Extortion trial of 16 Australia citizens by 12 members of police officers will be held at Police Kuta Denpasar, Bali at the end of this month.
Police has handed over the trial at Denpasar Police.
Head of Bali Police spokesman Sr. Hery Wiyanto to Tribune Bali said the trial will be held at the end of October in Denpasar Police.
“The trial is later in Denpasar Police,” said Hery at Bali Police, Monday.
He said he handed over the case to the police of Denpasar Police since entering the territory of Denpasar Police.
Moreover, the case had previously been handled by Bali Police.
Hery stated that his party is quite cautious with such cases so it will not disrupt the morale of the members.
“We also have to keep the morale of the members at least the other members,” said Hery.
As known, Bali Police has established 12 individual members who are involved in cases of extortion against foreigners from Australia.
The case was uncovered after a request for clarification from Indonesian Embassy in Australia related to the circulation of news in Australian mass media that Australian citizens have become victims of extortion by unscrupulous members of Kuta police around the month of February 2015 in amount of 25 thousand Australian dollars.
The clarification request was immediately responded to Bali Police to conduct a series of checks from the date of August 26, 2015.
From the results of the investigation, 12 members as an examinee had been stated.
