Drug Investigation Unit of Police Denpasar, Bali, uncovered distribution of dried marijuana weighing 19 kilograms which were sent via express package from Surabaya, East Java.

“The suspect was storing the marijuana for circulation in Bali,” said Head of Denpasar Police Commissioner, Djoko Hariutomo during a press conference in Denpasar on Friday.

From the suspect having initial NHI(28)  in Jalan Pulau Belitung, Denpasar, the police found evidence of marijuana weighing 19.041 grams with a total value estimated at Rp190million.

The marijuana was wrapped into 19 packs, weighing one kilogram for each.

Besides marijuana, police also found 4.13grams of shabu-shabu or crystal methamphetamine with a total value estimated at Rp7.5million.

“So the total value of marijuana and methamphetamine which were seized by police is Rp197,8 million,” he added.

The disclosure, Djoko continued, was the result of previous investigation conducted by Denpasar Police, officers of Narcotics Investigation Unit assisted by the Bali Police.

The suspect is now jailed in Denpasar  Police for further investigation. He was punished under the Law No.35 of 2009 on Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 20 years.
