Police Narcotics Unit Investigator Denpasar City is developing a case of a visitor, GMR (39), which was arrested for carrying marijuana and methamphetamine when visiting an inmate at the local police headquarters.
According to Head of Denpasar Police Commissioner Djoko Hariutomo, the arrest of GMR which is known working as a driver for a travel agency is the first arrest in 2015.
He was arrested with evidence in the form of packets of shabu-shabu (meth) weighing 0.82 grams and a package of marijuana weighing 0.18 grams.
GMR was arrested on Sunday (4/1) when he was visiting a prisoner (initial IDA) in local police station at around 5 pm.
When he was searched by the prison guard, it was found that the illicit goods were hidden under “canang” (Balinese offering) inside the suspect’s helmet.
The stuffs are bundled in the goods carried by suspect like food, clothing and tools for praying to fool officers.
Currently the police still detain suspects for further investigation. He was charged under Article on Narcotics with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
