KUTA
Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Region III noted that the capital city of Bali Province, Denpasar was experiencing a relatively extreme hot weather with a temperature increase of more than three degrees celsius.
“By recording the temperature in Denpasar Area during the past two days rose to 37 degrees Celsius from the average daily temperature of 31.4 degrees Celsius,” said Head of Data and Information Region III BMKG Denpasar, I Nyoman Gede Wiryajaya met at the local office in Tuban Kuta, Badung, Tuesday.
According to him, if the temperature rises above three degrees Celsius than the average temperature of an area then it is considered extreme.
The increase of hot temperatures by recording the temperature at BMKG station in Sanglah, Denpasar, on 22-23 November 2015,the City temperatures reach about 37 degrees.
Temperature in Denpasar on 21 November 2015 is also recorded high at 36 degrees Celsius, which is also quite extreme.
However, the extreme weather in Denpasar is not meant to represent the overall weather in Bali.
That’s because there are only four measuring devices that can be found in four other stations, in Negara, Sanglah, Ngurah Rai (airport) and Kahang-Kahang.
The average of the temperature measurements in BMKG station in Negara and Ngurah Rai experienced an average increase of two degrees Celsius on Monday.
On Monday in Negara for example, reached 34 degrees Celsius, an increase of two degrees of average temperature reached 32.6 degrees Celsius.
BMKG predicts rising temperatures will still happen until the next few days considering that the current rainfall is not evenly distributed in Bali.
The retreat of rainfall, he said, was influenced by El Nino which resulted in drought.
