Caught on camera: A drunk foreign tourist pees outside a resident's home in Uluwatu, Pecatu, South Kuta, Badung.
BADUNG, Bali – A drunken foreign tourist was caught on camera peeing outside a resident’s home in Uluwatu in the early hours of the morning, with the embarrassing incident later going viral on social media.
According to Denpasar Police spokesperson Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, the incident happened at around 3 a.m. on Monday, July 20, on Jalan Labuan Sait in Pecatu Village, South Kuta.
The homeowner, Nyoman Tambir, was leaving for the market when he was met with an unexpected sight — an unidentified foreign tourist urinating directly outside his property.
Tambir immediately confronted the man, who police said appeared to be intoxicated at the time. The tourist later apologized for his behavior.
Police said Tambir did not ask for the tourist’s identity or nationality and chose not to escalate the incident after receiving the apology.
“The homeowner chose not to pursue the matter because the foreign tourist was intoxicated and had apologized,” Adi said on Friday.
Although the incident ended without a police report, footage of the late-night encounter spread quickly across social media, drawing widespread attention and once again putting the spotlight on tourist behavior in Bali.
Police later visited the location to verify the incident after the video gained traction online. No further legal action was taken.
