Bali Provincial Government is currently working to increase the number of tourist arrivals for the special interest segment of yoga as a tourist attraction on the island.
“Yoga tourism included in the development of tourism to attract foreign tourists who want a special interest,” said Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Anak Agung Yuniarta encountered in Puputan Margarana Niti Mandala Renon, Denpasar, on Sunday.
According to him, the provincial government is now establishing more cooperation with a number of stakeholders in tourism and yoga practitioner in order to attract foreign tourists.
In addition, his side also took the Consulate General of India in Denpasar, to promote Bali and yoga tourism.
More and more foreign tourists are expected want a vacation to the island while doing yoga with different environments with the tourist’s respected country.
Currently a number of tourist accommodations in Bali offering yoga package which attracted many foreign tourists.
Last Sunday, Bali also held a mass Yoga which was followed by 3,600 participants and this is a record that included in the Indonesia Museum of Record (MURI).
The event was held in accordance to the World’s Yoga Day which falls on June 21.
Although there’s no specific data record of visits to Bali for yoga, but the Central Bureau of Statistics of Bali Province recorded in tourist arrivals from India now occupies the 10th position of tourist visit to Bali with 34,598 people, an increase about 44 percent compared to the same period January-April 2014 amounting 23,868 people.
