Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika urged people on the island to have a clear mind in choosing the right leader in the regional elections which will be held on December 9, 2015.
“The public need to be able to elect a leader who can bring Bali to a better direction,” Pastika said during a simakrama (colloquium) with people in Denpasar, on Saturday.
In Bali, from the eight regencies and one city, six of which will hold the elections at next December.
The sixth regencies are Tabanan, Badung, Jembrana, Bangli, Karangasem and Denpasar City.
The initial stages of the election itself will begin in early July 2015.
According to Pastika, the leader from the election process will give importance to Bali in the midst of global and national competition.
He added, though Bali covers only 0.29 percent of the total area of Indonesia and with a population of 4.2 million, but the role of Bali is taken into account in the national arena.
“I asked all the people should be clearheaded in making the choice. ‘One man, one vote,” he said.
On the other hand, the former Bali police chief also encouraged people to take responsibility for the choice made so that there is no regret in the end.
