Bali Parliament Remind the Cleanliness of Tourist Destinations

DENPASAR ~

Special Committee Bali Parliament (DPRD) towards the Regional Head’s Accountability Report Discussion reminded the hygiene and cleanliness at various tourist destinations to be maintained to avoid the decrease of tourist visits.

“Tourist destinations in Bali should not be labeled like pretty woman but dirty,” said Chairman of the Special Committee for the discussion Wayan Disel Astawa , in Denpasar, on Thursday.

According to him, the title of Bali as a tourism region is strongly influenced by the environment which is clean, green and healthy.

“Therefore, we expect there is sufficient budget and good coordination with local governments and municipalities to realize the success of the program “Bali Clean and Green,” he said.

He said he saw Bali Clean and Green program as the flagship program of the provincial government of Bali that still needs to be improved.

“Thus, Bali environment that is clean and green, as well as free from pollution and destruction of natural resources in the area can be perfectly realized,” Diesel said.

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika has repeatedly argued earlier, there are three main issues that have been complained by tourists to Bali, the waste problem, long lines at immigration, and traffic congestion.

“Cleanliness movement must be turned on in Bali since the top complaint of tourists is waste,” he said.

Associated with a common desire to achieve Bali free of plastic waste, according to Pastika, it should be based on self consciousness.

By realizing Bali as green and organic and free from chemicals, he said, then lands in Bali will return to fertile and sustainable, and Bali can attract qualified tourists.
