Bali Crafts is Expected to Go Global

DENPASAR ~

Chairwoman of National Crafts Council of Bali Ayu Pastika expected Balinese crafts is able to go global and compete in the global market.

“If we want to globalize the craft products, there are few things to be aware, the quality and certification, especially for the craft of wood, moreover we are still lacking in terms of branding,” she said.

Ayu Pastika expected the related field of Dekranasda (National Crafts Council) of Bali to do immediate socialization and training.

“We also compete with other regions. We must immediately develop and create a characteristic that cannot be replicated by other regions,” she said.

According to her, if the goods or crafts are not originally from Bali, it should not use label of “Made in Bali”.

“If the quality is good it would be fine, but if it is not, it will affect our image,” said Ayu Pastika.
