Bali Arts Festival will Bring Positive Impact

Department of Tourism Denpasar, Bali, believes the implementation of the 37th Bali Arts Festival (PKB) which lasted for one month will brings a positive impact on foreign and domestic tourist arrivals to the island.

“PKB is a moment of a big chance to bring foreign tourists through the promotion of cultural and tourist destinations, especially for Denpasar,” said Head of Tourism Office of Denpasar, Bali, Wayan Gunawan in Denpasar on Sunday.

He explained that the purpose of PKB is to introduce the culture and art that exist in the respective regencies and city in Bali, so it is expected to increase foreign and local tourist arrivals to Bali.

In addition, another purpose of PKB is to promote tourist destinations in Bali. “I am optimistic that this year’s implementation of PKB will be able to boost tourist arrivals to Bali, especially Denpasar,” he said.

He noted that in 2014, tourist visits to Denpasar as many as 166.148 people, which is dominated by 10 countries, namely China, Australia, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Japan, UK, USA, Denmark, and Korea.

Meanwhile, from January to April 2015, it was recorded as many as 46.471 tourists from 10 countries dominate the visit to the city of Denpasar.

Wayan Gunawan expected the implementation of PKB is able to increase the number of foreign tourists who stay in hotels located in Denpasar.

He acknowledged that PKB is coincided with local school holidays which can also be seen by the Balinese of all ages who also enjoy the cultural feast.

“The school holidays will brings a positive impact on tourism in Denpasar,” he said.
