The government of Badung, Bali, said they would seriously address the issue of waste by providing assistance unit of dump truck to four villages in the district of South Kuta.
“The provision of four units of dump trucks is a concern and the seriousness of the government in dealing with trash,” said Regent of Badung, Anak Agung Gde Agung when handed the aid in Mangupura on Friday.
The truck was handed over to four traditional villages namely, traditional village of Kuta, Kedonganan, Kelan and Kutuh, District of South Kuta.
Gde Agung also said that the handover was not merely to the four traditional villages, but will gradually be granted to other indigenous villages so as to help the quantity of waste transportation in the region so as to minimize the burden of junk.
On that occasion, Gde Agung also briefed the Head of the village to maintain the cleanliness of the local environment.
“Health, beauty and order environment can not only rely on the government, but it is a shared responsibility,” he said.
According to him, to maintain the environment is also required public participation. “Participation in the form of rules such as prohibition of throwing garbage randomly, prohibition of disposing cigarette butts carelessly or other prohibition rules,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Department of Hygiene in Badung regency, Putu Eka Marthawan stated the handover of four operational units as a garbage dump is used to transport and handle waste in vital objects in their traditional village environment.
“The granting of this truck has been through a planned mechanism which is followed up by giving proposals to the Regent by the four head of villages. Furthermore this truck will be fully authorized for grants ranging from administration to maintenance truck,” he said.
