DENPASAR – A violent incident erupted at Finns Beach Club, located on Jalan Pantai Berawa, Tibubeneng, Canggu, Badung, on Tuesday (11/2/2025) night, involving an Australian tourist and security personnel.
According to Badung Police Public Relations Officer, Ipda Putu Sukarma, the incident began around 9:40 PM when an Australian tourist, identified as LD, got into an altercation after accidentally bumping into a woman seated at a nearby table.
“The incident triggered LD’s emotions, leading to a heated argument. LD then grabbed another guest by the neck. Security intervened to break up the fight, but LD responded by making obscene gestures toward them,” Sukarma stated on Wednesday (12/2/2025).
Despite multiple warnings, LD refused to comply, prompting security to escort him out of the club.
Once in the parking area, LD became even more aggressive, resisting removal and physically attacking security guards. The situation worsened at approximately 9:55 PM when four of LD’s friends suddenly arrived and began assaulting the security staff.
“They launched a brutal attack before fleeing north toward Jalan Pantai Berawa,” Sukarma explained.
As a result of the violent altercation, four security guards suffered injuries:
The police are currently investigating the case and have identified the perpetrators.
“The suspects are being pursued, and their identities have been confirmed,” Sukarma added.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering witness statements to track down the attackers. This incident has reignited concerns about the behavior of Australian tourists in Bali and the need for stricter law enforcement to prevent similar occurrences.
