Billion-Dollar Belief: Eleven years old this June, Lion Air has rapidly grown to become Indonesia’s largest airline by passenger numbers and in early 2012 plans to sell over a third of its shares to raise an estimated US$1 billion, president director Rusdi Kirana announced on Friday. The budget airline remains banned from European airspace over safety concerns. National carrier Garuda Indonesia had a disappointing IPO earlier this month.
