A family of seven were killed in a landslide triggered by heavy rain in eastern Maluku, an official said on Thursday.

“They were watching television when a landslide struck their house last night,” Halim Waulat, a disaster management official in the town of Ambon, said.

The family, including four children, were killed instantly, he said.
