Dengue Kills Denpasar Man

DENPASAR

A 76-year-old Denpasar man is the latest fatality in Bali’s dengue outbreak. The man, from Sesetan, had been in intensive care in Sanglah Hospital for four days before his death on April 17.

A total of 2,771 people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue since January, most of them from Denpasar.

This year’s outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease is the worst for years. Dengue mosquitoes breed in urban areas where bad drainage and dumped rubbish provide an ideal environment for them.
