A 26-year-old man was killed when the 60-metre television tower he was demolishing at Kutuh suddenly collapsed.

Muhammad Robil, originally from Batu in East Java, died instantly in the accident. He was the only worker on the tower at the time .

South Kuta Police Chief Nanang Prihasmoko said several workers were preparing last week to demolish the tower, no longer needed after a private television station ended its leasing contract.

“The tower fell down all of a sudden because of rusty and porous tower pillars,” he said.
