A government team launched an unannounced inspection of food products on sale at Denpasar supermarkets at the weekend to ensure supplies were current and not out of date ahead of the end-of-fasting month Lebaran celebrations later this month as well as the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Dewa Gede Darendra, head of the Industry and Trade Department in Denpasar, said that no stores had been found in violation of training standards and all products had been well within their expiry dates. “We reminded the stores not to sell expired food or products that are in a bad condition,” he said.
