SUKAWATI ~ An 18-year-old painter from Tegalpadi, Kubu, Karangasem, disappeared while swimming with a friend at Purnama Beach, Sukawati on Sunday, police said.

Chief of Sukawati Police Bernand Mosak said I Ketut Sutama, who worked at a Sukawati painting shop, was swimming late on Sunday afternoon when his friend Ketut Widi saw him being dragged under the water by a large wave.

Mosak said police officers and a search-and-rescue team were still looking for the teenager’s body.

“We are searching the areas where Sutama’s body could have been washed up,” he said.
