The Spirit of Bali

More than 200 participants, including representatives of UNESCO Member States, government ministers, intergovernmental organizations, civil society, the private sector and media, adopted The Spirit of Bali declaration at the end of an international conference in Bali on Tuesday.

The text was adopted at the close of the three-day Global Forum, Power of Peace – organized by the government and the Communication and Information Sector of UNESCO – on how to harness new and traditional media to build peace and promote dialogue.

The Spirit of Bali says that a new network, the Power of Peace Network, will help to “enhance cultural self-expression and interaction, inter-faith dialogue, and to bridge the information gap between people.”
