NEGARA ~ The large number of traffic accidents on the main road from Denpasar to Gilimanuk road has motivated Jembrana Police to begin patrolling 24 hours a day, police said on Wednesday.

Head of Jembrana Traffic Police Nyoman Nuryana said the road was extremely busy and people did not always obey traffic rules, and that as a result, there were many accidents.

“People call it the devil’s road because of the amount of people killed or injured on it. We must patrol intensively to control drivers,” Nuryana said.

He said they would also be adding police posts in the most dangerous areas of the road.
