BULELENG ~ The body of a fisherman was found in his boat in Les, Buleleng, last Saturday, an official said.

Fellow fishermen who discovered the body, Made Merta, 45, and Wayan Redana, 50, said they found the man after investigating what they thought was an empty boat floating in the water.

“We went straight to the head of the local fishermen’s committee and then to Tejakula Police,” Redana said.

Tejakula Police chief Nyoman Adnyana Putra said the man was identified by a medical team from Tejakula community medical centre as I Ketut Tinggal, 50, from Bondalem, Tejakula.

“Tinggal’s family positively identified his body and told us he had suffered from high blood pressure and gout in the past,” Putra said.

He said the family refused to allow a autopsy, but police and doctors agreed he had died of natural causes.
