Two Arrested over Eight Villa Robberies

BADUNG ~ North Kuta Police announced this week the arrest of two suspected thieves specializing in robbing villas, after the investigation of eight robberies.

North Kuta Police chief Darma Putra said Mansyur alias Dogel, 23, and Norman alias Kecruk, 30, were arrested on March 3 and 5 respectively and police were still looking for a third man, initialed AI, who allegedly found locations for the thieves.

According to Putra, their most recent crime took place on February 24, when they allegedly robbed the house of Yulianto, 35, on Jl. Taman Sari, Kepaon, Denpasar.

Putra said the thieves admitted to entering eight houses and villas through windows and stealing 11 cellphones, three laptops, Rp8 million (US$660) in cash and two PlayStation consoles.

“The suspects had sold most of the evidence at Kreneng Market in Denpasar and had spent all of the cash they stole. We are now focused on finding the third suspect,” Putra said.
