BADUNG ~ Last Saturday a tree-planting event organized by Golkar party legislative candidates took place in Semanik village, Petang, Badung, an official said.
The three candidates, I Gusti Ngurah Shaskara, I Gusti Ketut Adhiputra and I Wayan Rawan Atmaja, said the event, in which 1,000 trees were planted, was part of the party’s Northern Green campaign to improve north Badung and fight global warming.
Shaskara said people from surrounding villages, including the irrigation group Amerta Sari Manik, from Nungnung village, were enthusiastic about the event and came to participate in the tree planting.
He also said it was the aim of the party to keep the northern part of Badung from becoming built up and stripped of its agricultural land.
“We will continue to run projects like this tree-planting event throughout northern Badung,” Shaskara said.
