Police Advance with GPS

DENPASAR ~ To improve standards of service, Bali Police have put into operation 62 new patrol cars fitted with GPS (Global Positioning System), police said.

Head of Bali Police T. Ashikin Husein said the system would cut down response times, as the location of reports coming into the emergency number 112 would be shown directly on the GPS screens.

“’People can call 112 and the closest patrol car will immediately know where to go,” Husein said.

He said the 62 new patrol cars would be spread throughout Denpasar, Tabanan, Gianyar and Badung.
