NEGARA ~ Jembrana Police arrested a bus driver on Sunday after catching him loading his bus with illegal timber on Jl. Gajah Mada, Jembrana, an official said.

Chief of Jembrana’s Crime Unit Ketut Sinaryasa said police officers became suspicious of a bus with no passengers being driven very slowly by Ketut Srm, 40.

“Officers stopped the bus and found 82 pieces of timber under the seats of the bus,” Sinaryasa said.

The suspect claimed the wood belonged to Srtn, 37, from Gilimanuk, and he was just transporting it out of Jembrana.

“The suspect and evidence is now being held at Jembrana Police station,” Sinaryasa said.
