Karangasem Seeks Out Cruise-Ship Investors

SANUR ~ Starting next year, Karangasem will be visited by hundreds of cruise ships, bringing 2,000 to 3,000 passengers per ship, an official said.

To speed up the completion of the cruise ship terminal under construction in Karangasem, Regent Wayan Geredeg said he would like to hold a program to invite investors from cruise companies to help.

Geredeg said if all went to plan, the terminal would be finished in June 2009.

“I hope the new harbor complex will allow us to welcome the arrival of tens of thousands of foreign tourists,” he said.
