Watersports Firms Lose out in Wet Season

SANUR ~ Owners of watersports businesses have become worried about a falloff in customers during the current rainy season, they said.

Owner of a Sanur-based watersports business Ketut Partha said many tourists canceled their bookings when rain was heavy or there were strong winds

“Tourists are often afraid to do underwater activities in bad weather. We lose a huge amount of business in the rainy season because of the weather,” he said.

However, according to Partha, recent rains had not yet stopped tourists going out on the water.

“The weather has not been too bad. The water isn’t muddy and the currents are not very strong,” he said.

Another business owner, Ketut Sukanta, agreed, saying his business had not yet been affected either.

“Rains followed by big waves and strong winds are what really keep the tourists away,” he said.
