DENPASAR, Bali – Bali tourist protection is being strengthened as the provincial government launches a 24-hour integrated safety and service system for international visitors. Governor Wayan Koster reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring safety and comfort for travelers exploring the Island of the Gods.
During the Coordination Meeting on Tourist and Foreigner Protection in Denpasar on Thursday (Oct 9), Koster announced plans to establish 24-hour tourist service posts across major destinations, including beaches, mountains, and cultural attractions.
“We must have a system that guarantees both safety and comfort for tourists wherever they go in Bali,” Koster said. “Everything — from hotels to transport routes — must be managed in an integrated way.”
The new initiative will connect emergency services, police, hospitals, disaster agencies, and tourism offices under one unified digital system for rapid response.
Koster said the plan supports Bali’s long-term vision of quality and sustainable tourism through professional management, skilled personnel, and modern technology. “If this works well, Bali will gain even greater trust and respect from the world,” he added.
Head of the Bali Tourism Office, I Wayan Sumarajaya, reported that by September 2025, 5.6 million foreign tourists had visited the island, with Australia, China, India, and the UK as the top four markets.
Authorities continue to balance protection and law enforcement for foreigners. “We protect those who comply and act firmly against those who violate,” said Sumarajaya. He noted 1,185 immigration actions, 406 deportations, and 144 cases where foreigners were victims of accidents or violence this year.
To strengthen Bali tourist protection, the government will equip all major attractions with real-time weather systems and expand cooperation with insurance providers and health facilities.
These measures will underpin a forthcoming Regional Regulation on Quality Tourism Management, ensuring Bali remains safe, sustainable, and world-class.
