Police and medics attend to Australian tourist who collapsed at Bali airport, July 6, 2025.

MANGUPURA, Bali – A 59-year-old Australian man was injured after collapsing at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, shortly after arriving on Jetstar flight JQ-110 from Perth on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

The man, identified by the initials SRC, had just retrieved his luggage and was walking toward the pickup area when he suddenly lost balance, fell, and struck a wall. He reportedly experienced convulsions and briefly lost consciousness, sustaining a head injury and suspected neck trauma.

“He appeared disoriented, collapsed, and hit a wall, which caused injuries to his head and neck,” said I Gede Suka Artana, spokesperson for the Ngurah Rai Airport Police.

Medical personnel from the Quarantine Health Center (BBKK), led by Dr. Dyah Chandratika, arrived at the scene at approximately 11:40 a.m. local time. They found the man lying down, bleeding from the head and showing signs of disorientation. First aid was promptly administered on-site.

A preliminary examination indicated the victim suffered a mild head injury. According to a statement from his wife, he has a history of hypertension, which may have contributed to the incident.

After receiving emergency treatment, he was evacuated to BIMC Hospital in Kuta for further medical care.

Police officers, BBKK staff, and airport security coordinated the evacuation process and ensured the passenger received immediate assistance.

“The Ngurah Rai Airport Police remain on standby and continue to work in close coordination with all airport stakeholders to maintain the safety and security of travelers,” said Artana.
