Casa Santisya Villa, Munggu — scene of the fatal shooting involving two Australians on June 14, 2025.
In a major breakthrough in the Australian shooting in Bali, police have arrested one of the suspects involved in the deadly attack at a luxury villa in Munggu, Badung, that left one Australian man dead and another injured. The arrest took place around 3:00 AM WITA on Saturday, just hours after the shooting.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, is now undergoing intensive interrogation at the Badung Police Headquarters. Meanwhile, a second suspect remains at large, with authorities launching a full-scale manhunt across Bali.
Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya confirmed that Indonesian authorities are now working with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to help track down the fugitive suspect. Police have distributed the second suspect’s description to all exit points from Bali, including airports and seaports, to prevent escape.
“Coordination with Australian police is ongoing,” said Adityajaya. “We’re committed to solving this case quickly and bringing all responsible parties to justice.”
The violent attack occurred around 12:20 AM on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Casa Santisya Villa, located on Jalan Pantai Munggu, Seseh, in Munggu Village, Mengwi, Badung. Two masked men reportedly forced their way into the villa where Zivan Radmanovic, 32, and Sanar Ghanim, 34, were staying.
Radmanovic was shot three times — twice in the chest and once in the foot — and died on the scene. Ghanim was shot in the leg and was rushed to BIMC Hospital in Kuta, where he is currently recovering.
Radmanovic’s wife, Gourdeas Jazmyn, survived by hiding under a blanket during the attack. She later described one of the shooters as wearing a bright orange jacket and dark helmet.
Multiple eyewitnesses and the surviving victim confirmed that the attackers spoke English with a distinct Australian accent. One witness, who saw a man struggling to start his scooter after the attack, quoted him saying, “I can’t start my bike.”
Police also recovered significant ballistic evidence from the crime scene, including 17 bullet casings, 2 intact projectiles, and 55 bullet fragments.
Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the villa and nearby locations to identify movement patterns of the suspects. The forensic team is also analyzing bullet trajectories and weapon types used in the shooting.
Investigators believe the attackers may have specifically targeted the victims due to suspected ties to Melbourne’s criminal underworld. Ghanim is known to have connections to the late Carl Williams, a notorious Australian underworld figure.
Sanar Ghanim remains hospitalized but is expected to recover and provide testimony. The motive behind the attack is still being investigated, though links to organized crime are a key focus.
Police are urging the public to report any suspicious individuals or activities, particularly near ports and border areas.
