A French woman found dead in a guesthouse in Kuta, Bali, has shocked local authorities. The woman, identified as Violine Roxana Henriette Thalie Janin (45), was discovered lifeless in her room on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at around 12:00 PM WITA. The discovery was made by her 14-year-old daughter, Viollete Angeline IJ, who had been trying to reach her mother since March 1 but received no response.
Upon entering the room through a window, the daughter found her mother’s body in a decomposed state and immediately contacted her father. The incident was reported to the guesthouse owner, who then informed local authorities.
According to the Denpasar Police Inafis Team, the victim was found lying naked on the bed, with her head positioned south and feet north. Blood was observed around her mouth and nose, which is suspected to be due to decomposition.
“Yes, the victim was found without clothing, and blood from decomposition was visible on her face,” a police source revealed.
Despite the presence of blood, initial findings suggest no signs of physical violence on the victim’s body. Several personal belongings were found in the room, including two mobile phones, an Apple iPad, and multiple medications, such as Baldrianwurzel, Lonic Magnesium, Citribiotik, Kianosbrain, iodine tincture, and Caffeinum 0.2 Ng.
Authorities suspect that the victim died due to illness, considering the presence of medications in the room. However, to determine the exact cause, the body has been transferred to Prof. IGNG Ngoerah Hospital for further examination.
Denpasar Police Public Relations Head, AKP I Ketut Sukadi, stated that the police have yet to receive a complete report on the case.
“I will check the details first,” he said briefly.
While initial investigations suggest no foul play, authorities are considering an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
