The authorities in Gianyar Regency have installed an additional 48 closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) in key areas to provide additional security during the coming Christmas and New Year’s celebrations, officials said.

The areas covered include Ubud, Gianyar town and Sukawati, and the installation is part of a long-term plan to beef-up security and maintain public order, government official Nyoman Nuadi said on Monday.

Each town now had 16 CCTVS, he said.
