Investigators of Bali Regional Police and Denpasar Police has examined 51 witnesses concerning the two cases of Engeline murder case and the alleged child neglect.
Bali Police Chief Inspector General Ronny Sompie in Denpasar, on Monday, explained that for the murder case handled by the Denpasar Police with suspect Agus, investigators have asked testimony from 28 witnesses, two of whom are expert witnesses.
“While on the case of child neglect, we have gained testimony from 23 witnesses, six of whom are expert witnesses,” he said.
For the case of child neglect with the suspect Margriet Christina Megawe is handled by investigators at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation Police Bali.
Until now, investigators are still checking both suspects in a separate place.
In addition to study the testimony of witnesses, investigators of Police Bali, Denpasar Police assisted by the Indonesia Police Headquarters made several pre-reconstruction at the crime scene at Jalan Sedap Malam, Denpasar.
This is to obtain strong evidence to ensnare other actors allegedly involved in the murder case.
Agus in the final investigation report and through a lie detector even mentioned Margriet as the actor of the murder, as told to his lawyer Haposan Sihombing.
But, the investigator did not necessarily raise the status of Margriet became a suspect in the murder case because Agus’ statements must be completed with strong evidence.
“We have to find the strengthener of other evidences such as witness testimony, expert testimony, documentary evidence and other clues,” he said.
