Couple Try to Sell Baby on Ebay

BERLIN ~ German police said this week they had taken a 7-month baby away from a couple in Bavaria who are under investigation after putting the child for sale on auction site Ebay.

The baby boy was put on sale last Tuesday at a starting price of one euro (US$1.58) and was withdrawn from the site around two and a half hours later, police said. There had been no offers.

The mother said it was meant as a joke, but police failed to see the funny side, putting the baby into care and launching an investigation of both parents for attempted child trafficking, a statement said.

Smile! Your Crime Is on YouTube

LONDON ~ A British man has been branded a city’s “dumbest criminal” after he posted more than 80 videos of himself committing various misdemeanors on YouTube, officials said.

Andrew Kellett, 23, was banned from boasting about his criminal activities on the internet after posting videos of himself and others taking Class A drugs, racing cars at high speeds and trespassing and shouting abuse.

He even filmed himself receiving a suspended sentence for an offence at Leeds Magistrates’ Court in the northern English city.
