Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika is keen to promote tourism potential in Bali by developing film industry on the island.

“Film is effective for promotion of various tourism potentials in Bali,” Pastika said when receiving the Director of State Film Production (PFN) Shelvy Arifin, in Denpasar on Friday.

Shelvy arrivals aimed to facilitate Hope Films, a movie company from China which plans to carry out filming in Bali.

Pastika welcomed and expressed thanks for the filming plan in Bali. Bali has a lot of shooting spots that has been so popular such as Kuta, Ubud, Padang-Padang Beach, Tanah Lot, and Batur Mountain.

According to the Governor, the success of ‘Eat Pray and Love’ movie, has made Bali increasingly well known throughout the world. In fact, Bali now has a new nickname as the Island of Love.

The success of the Hollywood movie has become one of the promotional materials to open an international event on the island. Pastika also did not hesitate to promote Bali as a place to carry out a wedding or honeymoon.

Learning from this experience, Pastika predicted that the plan of Hope Film to shoot in Bali is an excellent opportunity. He hoped that the movie would make a lot of displays of Bali’s natural beauty and culture.

“In addition to the positive influence for the advancement of the film industry, this claim is expected to contribute in enhancing the relationship of Bali and China. Moreover, Bali is currently boosting tourist arrivals from China,” he said.
