Indonesian Political Science Association (AIPI) of Bali advised potential leader in Denpasar to be elected in the elections at the end of 2015 should be able to cope with the population problem in that area.
“In Denpasar, there should be criteria for how leader can tackle the population problem and adopt the ways of solving the problem by using the values of local wisdom,” said the chairman of Bali Provincial AIPI Dr Wayan Gede Suacana in Denpasar on Tuesday.
According to him, today in the capital city of Bali is nearly balanced between the numbers of migrants with local residents. As a result, the local community is now beginning to feel pressured by the settlers. “In this kind of competition condition, prone to problems of crime, social jealousy and other advanced issues,” he said.
According to him, currently the population problem in Denpasar has not been managed well. He did not deny that pecalang or custom security officers had carried out the inspection but it was temporary.
On the other hand, Suacana also stressed the importance of Mayor of Denpasar to understand performance reports from public institutions of the previous leader. Thus, the new mayor solves the problems using local approach, earlier.
“In addition to the administrative requirements, as well as how the substance could elevate the values of local wisdom, the concept of service, and how leaders put themselves as part of the people and not the boss,” said Suacana.
