DENPASAR ~
Center for Food and Drug Administration (BBPOM) Denpasar, Bali, increases its supervision related to the circulation of synthetic rice in Indonesia, including the possibility of its entrance to Bali.
Head of BBPOM Denpasar Endang Widowati on Wednesday explained that until today it has not found nor received reports of the synthetic rice.
“We will further coordinate with relevant agencies to increase surveillance,” she said.
She appealed to the public if something strange is found when cooking rice such as the flavor changes as the content of plastic synthetic, to report to the relevant parties and to Indonesia Consumer Services Foundation (YLKI) and BBPOM.
Indonesian society is now shocked by the discovery of synthetic rice in the country.
Of a number of reports in some media, it was imported rice.
The fake rice is mixed with original rice so that the public is quite difficult to distinguish the rice.
“In the near future we will go to the field to ascertain whether the circulation of synthetic rice in Bali is exist or not,” she said.
