MANGUPURA ~
Deputy Governor of Bali Ketut Sudikerta requested that the VIP room at the Ngurah Rai International Airport to be tightened and should only given to certain people who have been licensed by the Governor of Bali.
“People entitled to use VIP is already exist in the Governor’s Rule in the form of Regulations, and should have requested permission first to the Governor of Bali, so it cannot be used by random people,” said Sudikerta on a Coordination Meeting with PT Angkasa Pura in VIP Room 2 Ngurah Rai, Badung, on Monday.
According to him, this tightening is also implemented as an effort to maintain the security of the state’s and government’s guests who come to Bali. It is also expected that there are arrangements of facilities in the VIP room start from the furniture, the condition of buildings and the arrangement of other tools there.
On the other hand, he again highlighted the impression of Balinese culture that has not been existed in the area of Ngurah Rai Airport. He suggested that the welcoming billboard can be in Balinese language, “Om Swastiastu, Rahajeng Rauh Ring Bali”.
In addition, deputy governor also discussed about the access to the airport, especially at the Ngurah Rai roundabout that is considered to be very dense. To that end, there’s a plan to make an underpass that is expected to break up the density and provide smooth access to the airport.
Meanwhile, Deputy General Manager of Angkasa Pura I, I Gusti Ngurah Ardita expressed readiness to make corrections, both the facilities and condition of the building of the VIP room.
Ardita also suggested that related to access to the airport, should take advantage of public transportation such as Trans Sarbagita. He suggested to create three main tracks connecting to the airport, Mengwi-Imam Bonjol-Airport, Ubud-Batubulan-Sanur-Airport and Nusa Dua – Jimbaran – Airport.
It is expected to reduce the motorcycle users who currently have flooded the airport’s parking lot and even have exceeded capacity.
