Bali Targets All Hospital Already Accredited by 2020

Bali Provincial Health Office targeting that by 2020 all hospitals in regencies/ city should already be accredited.

“The target will be done gradually throughout the hospitals in Bali, both public and private,” said Head of Bali Provincial Health Office Services Dr. Ni Made Laksmiwati, in Denpasar on Tuesday.

Based on current data, there are 56 units of hospitals in all regencies / city in Bali but recorded only 10 hospitals that have been accredited in 2012 and 46 have not been accredited.

By law, she explained, every hospital must improve the quality of service to perform accreditation in order to protect the rights of patients.

“People have been able to choose hospital level based on their interest,” she said.

The ten hospitals that have accredited are later given guidance, monitoring, and evaluation.

Therefore, accreditation is not done when the assessment by a team of the Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals (KARS) being conducted, but also be done continuously.

“That aspects of service quality that would later be given to patients,” said Laksmiwati.
