Prosecutor Demands 17 Years in Prison to a Germans

Prosecutor demanded 17 years in prison and fine of Rp 1 billion against Naumann Hans Peter (48), from Germany who was caught importing cocaine weighing 328.13 grams.

“The defendant without any rights and against the law importing narcotic class I exceeds five grams,” said Attorney General I Ketut Yasa, in Denpasar District Court on Wednesday.

In a session led by Chief Justice Putu Gde Hariyadi, the defendant was accompanied by his legal adviser Bernardin and I Dewa Ayu Verawati. The defendant who lived in Thailand was arrested by officers of Customs and Excise Ngurah Rai Airport on 26 September 2014 at 12.45 pm.

At that time the defendant looked scared and sweating. Above suspicion, the officers perform a physical examination to the defendant and found 11 cocaine capsules in the defendant’s pants.

Then, the defendant admitted also put in some capsules through the rectum, which then he was taken to the toilet. Having given laxatives, six white capsules containing 29.88 grams of cocaine could be taken out.

The defendant admitted that there are some other capsules in his stomach. Customs officers together with Bali Police then bring the accused to Hospital of Trijata, Denpasar, for X-ray examination.

Officers then successively seized the 11 capsules on September 27, 2014, 10 capsules on 28 September 2014, 10 capsules on September 29, 2014, and one capsule on 2 October 2014. Of these, the total evidence that successfully issued a total of 32 capsules weighing 202.19 grams gross or 159.25 grams net.
