DENPASAR ~
All regencies and city in Bali are threatened blackout from February 21 to March 1, 2015 due to the maintenance of Gas Power Plant in Gilimanuk, Jembrana.
“Previously the maintenance of this power plant always delayed. But this time we have to do it to avoid further damage,” said General Manager of PLN (State –owned electricity enterprise) of Bali Syamsul Huda in Denpasar, on Friday.
Gilimanuk power plant, he said, has been supplying electricity of 130 Mega Watt (MW). By the maintenance of February 21 to March 1, automatically 130 MW will come out of the electricity supply system in Bali.
He stated that currently PLN Bali has 850 MW to supply power to the entire Bali. The electricity is supplied from Java at 340 MW, and the rest from the power plants in Gillimanuk, Pemaron and Pesanggaran.
“However, due to 130 MW power will be out from the electrical system, so that we predicted there would be a deficit of 40-70 MW of electricity, depending on the current peak load conditions,” he said.
Issues related to the rolling blackout, it has been delivered to the Governor of Bali and Investment Agency, as well as related parties, because the policy will certainly have an impact on various sectors.
“We had to do this to secure the electrical system, to avoid the worse impact,” said Syamsul.
