Tourism Ministry allocates Rp100 billion for tourism in Bali in 2015 in the form of promotional programs targeting countries that supplies large number of tourists to the island.
“We can commit in amount of Rp100 billion for Bali,” said Tourism Minister Arief Yahya in Bali Tourism Board (BTB) in Denpasar, on Thursday.
He explained that the government implements the priorities of tourist destinations such as Bali, Jakarta and Batam.
It is expected that large funds will be allocated for promotional purposes directly to the country’s largest market share.
As for the island, the largest countries that supply the most foreign tourists are Australia, China and Japan.
“Origination for Bali is Australia, China and Japan. The budget of Rp100 billion should be directed to those countries,” said Arief.
The government, he said, do not give any target when the budget will be effectively used for promotion remembering that each country have different holiday season.
“Like for example in China it has five times of holiday season every year,” he said.
He described one of these funds will be allocated in the implementation of “Bali Beyond and Travel Fair (BBTF)” in 2015, which will be held in June.
It is predicted to cost Rp23 billion with revenues estimated at Rp13 trillion by presenting a number of sellers of tourism entrepreneurs in Indonesia and buyers from a number of countries.
