Bali Allocates Rp50 Billion for International Hospital

Bali provincial government has allocated IDR50 billion for the physical development of international standard hospital (RSI) which will begin in 2015.

Deputy Governor of Bali Ketut Sudikerta said the total actual costs required for the physical development of RSI is 220 billion budgeted by the multi-years system of two years.

However, for 2015, physical development budgeted at 50 billion and the rest will be at the following year. Additionally, in 2015, Bali also will get a budget of 125 billion from the central government for the provision of medical devices in the RSI.

Sudikerta said that the total budget required for physical development and provision of medical devices may reach 500 billion.

“The highest cost is for the procurement of medical equipment, compared to the cost of the construction,” he said.

The hospital belongs to the local government that will be built on an area of about three hectares, will provide as much as 50 percent of beds available for patients who received services of Bali Mandara Health Insurance (JKBM), while the rest is for the general public who want to get VVIP service.

He made sure that the cost of VVIP room at the hospital will be higher because it will be used to cover operating costs.

Related to the human resources, local workers will be prioritized, but does not rule out the possibility of foreign workers in numbers and certain specialties. Regarding the amount, Sudikerta admitted that he does not know the technical matters in detail, obviously a foreign worker will be involved also in the field of management.
