Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) Bali predicted the level of occupancy of accommodation on the island will jump to 25 percent on Christmas and New Year 2015.
“We predict an average increase in occupancy of accommodation from 10 to 25 percent,” said Perry Markus, Secretary of PHRI Bali in Denpasar, on Saturday.
However, the prediction is not for all areas, only occurs in a number of hotels located in the favorite tourist area among Kuta, Nusa Dua and Ubud.
“Now the occupancy is increasing because there are many domestic and foreign tourist arrivals but the number of available rooms are also too much. There might be an increase (residential) in some places, while others may be normal,” he added.
He explained that the predicted number of rooms of accommodation listed in PHRI Bali reaches approximately 80,000 rooms.
The numbers of tourists who want to spend a long holiday in Bali also affect the price of the room which occurs in a number of hotels.
Moreover, nowadays many tourist accommodation both non-starred and star hotels are competitive in terms of services, facilities to price competition.
Hospitality business in Bali is not only star hotel but also “budget hotel” or affordable hotel with facilities similar to the five-star hotel that is now increasing.
“To keep attracting guests, every hotelier implementing a number of tips (promo) as providing added value or provide ‘bonus` in providing facilities,” he said.
