Government of Denpasar City, Bali, on alert against flood in a number of roads after the rain began to fall unevenly, although still in low precipitation.

In the area of Kenyeri, Denpasar has been done environmental improvement but many people still throw garbage during the rainy season into the gutter so that the water flow becomes blocked.

He explained that the city government has other ways by building a waste bank that is continuously socialized. There are people in Abian Kapas which already has 1.7 million savings within three months by selling garbage bins stored in the bank.

According to him, people usually open a bank trash every one or two weeks, while the waste collected directly sold by the owner to fill the needs of daily life, including paying electricity or money saved.

“If there are no waste banks, can be imagined piles of garbage in the river that lead to floods can not be avoided,” he said.

The mayor added that the city government also insures 50 thousand trees, especially in a number of roads and public facilities, so that when people are struck down by trees, especially during the rainy season is entitled to insurance.
