Nusa Penida in Klungkung regency is one of the 21 strategic areas of tourism that has been set on the island of Bali, making it necessary in order to support the planning of local wisdom to be well preserved.

“Nusa Penida an island separated from the mainland Bali become a tourist area that has yet to be well organized,” said Ngakan Made Putu Kirim from BAPPEDA province of Bali, Nusa Penida, Wednesday.

He said, Nusa Penida consist of three islands namely the island of Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan Nusa Ceningan and the spatial problem is still a problem that needs to get immediate treatment.

With the enactment of tourism as a strategic area along with 20 other regions in the area, it is expected to further grow and develop in terms of economic, social and cultural.

The investors who invest to Nusa Penida need to be supported with a clear layout between area allowed as tourism accommodation and the sacred area.

Ngakan Karim explained that the transition of land becomes a significant effect, so it is necessary to tighten the licensing, as efforts to control the use of land and controlled on a regular basis.

“Control of the land is very important to match the designation,” he said.
I Wayan Katon, Perbekel (village chief) of Batukandik, Nusa Penida added, there should be a clear terms about zones defined. Civic-minded tourism development is needed in order to be enjoyed by all aspects of community.

While the culture need to be given space to be shown off to tourists.

A local community leader, I Wayan Karnata hoped that the establishment of Nusa Penida as strategic tourism area totally gives benefits to the communities.

Nusa Penida is actually own tourism object regarding marine tourism which has been designated as a Conservation of Sea Area, white sandy beaches, high cliffs and sacred place.

“In almost every village can be found cave that can to be used as a tourist attraction,” he said.
