Badung regency government continues to preserve Balinese literature through competition in a series of 5th Anniversary of Mangupura City, on 29th October and will be celebrated for three weeks with Art and Cultural Festival.

“Competition of nyastra (Balinese Literary Reading) implemented as a tangible manifestation of the vision and mission that emphasizes cultural of Badung regency, and the implementation of one of the five basic principles of sustainable development in Badung, namely pro culture, “said Head of Culture Division of Badung Ida Bagus Anom Bhasma in Mangupura, Tuesday.

He hoped that through the competitions Nyastra can be understood, especially by the younger generation, because it contains many guidance and ethics as well as religion.

“Through this contest, we want to regenerate culture of nyastra among children and young people so that they love Balinese language. Hopefully Balinese culture can be re-explored, developed, and turned in society, “he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the custom of Cultural Division in Badung Ida Bagus Agung as chairman of the committee said that this type of competition include macecimpedan (Balinese guessing games) at primary level for boys and girls, mesatua (balinese story telling) at primary level, nyurat lontar (Balinese writing) at junior high school level, writing short stories for adult levels, Balinese poetry at junior high school level (boys and girls), Balinese language speech at junior high school level (boys and girls) and other cultural literature competitions..

This competition is followed by representatives from each of the districts throughout Badung. Each sub-district included 16 participants with a total of 96 participants.
