APJII to Hold Miss Internet Bali

Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) to hold Miss Internet Bali (MIB), October 21-25, 2014 with the theme “Smart, Beauty and Productive with Social Media” in Kuta.

“The purpose of the Miss Internet as Healthy/Positive Internet as ambassador of Bali to socialize any impact caused by misuse of the technology,” said Chairman of the Organizing Committee MIB 2014, I Gede Yudatama, in Kuta, Badung on Friday.

The selection of MIB 2014 is as a new breakthrough in bridging the public and information technology.”Today the Internet is visited by million and even billion of people from all over the world and with the internet someone is not confined between space and time,” he said.

He said that 45 participants attended the selection. However, only 20 finalists would be eligible for the next stage.

“Of the 20 finalist will be selected into the top 10 and then selected the top three,” he said.

Besides, the finalists will undergo quarantine for six days and will be given briefing materials related to internet healthy, safe and productive.

“In the process of quarantine there will be visits activity and social service activities and the grand final will be held on 25 October,” he said.

He expected anyone wins the competition to assume the missions and tasks during the year. “The activities are meeting related to technology and information socialization efforts in cooperation with the government and the IT community in the use of healthy, safe and productive internet,” he said.

Consequently, the selected Miss Internet Bali is hoped to be able to explore the positive side of the internet, minimizing the negative impact and reduce public concerns about the internet.
