Ombudsman of Bali Receives 412 of Complaint Cases for Public Services

Indonesia Ombudsman of Bali representative received 412 reports and public complaints regarding the public services over the last three years since the existence of the institution in Bali.

“About 60 percent of those cases can be solved, having facilitated with various agencies,” said Chief of Ombudsman of Bali Representative Umar Ibnu Alkhatab in Denpasar on Tuesday.

He said that there are 147 reports and complaints regarding public complaints about public services during the nine-month period from January to September 2014.

The number was decreased compared to 2013 that there were 220 cases.

Omar added that such a complaint was handled on a range of things ranging from water, electricity, land certificate, immigration and procurement of civil service candidates levy.

His party facilitates the settlement of cases of complaints from the public together with various agencies.

“The effort was facilitated simply by calling the agency’s leader, sending letters, even up to several times of meeting,” said Umar Ibnu.

He added, the complaints came from eight regencies and one city in Bali, but the most came from Denpasar City.

In resolving the complaint a meeting must be held with the regents and mayors, vice-regent, the district secretary and the head unit (SKPD).

He expected the support and participation of the community in the slightest form of public complaints against public services can be reported to the Ombudsman to act upon its completion in order to give satisfaction to the public.
