Bali Arts Festival 2014 Take Up Budget of Rp5.6 Billion

The 36th Bali Arts Festival (PKB) in 2014 will take up the provincial government budget about Rp 5.6 billion, to fund the development of sekaa or arts groups that perform at Denpasar Cultural Park.

“From the allocation of Rp5.6 billion, the designation does more to `sekaa`, including arts groups prepared by the regencies/ city,” said Head of Bali Province Culture Department Ketut Suastika, in Denpasar, on Sunday.

“In addition to fund the ‘sekaa’ training, the PKB budget allocation has also been included for the construction of craft and art booths that will be free for our exhibitors,” he said.

The activities of the largest annual arts festival in Bali that will take place on June 14 to July 12, 2014, is concentrated in Denpasar Cultural Park with the theme of “Kertamasa”, which can be interpreted as the dynamics of agrarian society toward the welfare of universe.

The 36th PKB is scheduled to be opened by Indonesian President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the same as in previous years.

Suastika asserted that to build free booths means that Bali Government will fund it, but the participants still have to pay some of the provisions stipulated in the Regulation of The Use of Regional Resources.

“The crafts and arts booths that are free reach more than 200 units to be placed in and around the Ksirarnawa Building and under the Arda Candra building. Those who do not get any booth, we hope to use the occasion of an exhibition after PKB in Bali Mandara Arts and Culture Performance,” he said.

Until now he is working with the Department of Industry and Trade in regencies/ city and Bali province Department of Industry and Trade is still in the stage of selecting tightly the exhibitors to determine who is entitled to become a participant in accordance with the requirements .

While for the culinary stand in the PKB arena is not free, they are also able to determine their own booth design and location.
